To help prepare students on the college preparation process, Long Beach Cal-SOAP will host a College Prep Summer Camp at Firebaugh and Lynwood high schools from July 21-25.
Rising seniors at the two high schools are invited to attend the FREE camp, which will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
Space is limited for this one-week program at LUSD. The application deadline is Friday, May 30.

Participants will explore colleges and majors, receive information on college applications and assistance with college essays, and learn about available scholarships and how to manage finances while in college.
There will be a college campus field trip on the last day of camp.

The California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) is a state legislated program that strives to help students improve their academic performance and make information about postsecondary education and financial aid more widely available.
