Lynwood Bingo Club Turns 5 and Celebrates

There will be five $250 jackpot prizes awarded during the evening bash.

This afternoon, the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center’s Bingo Club will be celebrating its 5th year anniversary with five $250 jackpot games. Organizers of the club are planning a big bash and expecting around 100 players to buy in, which is double the usual amount.

The Bingo Club holds a monthly game every third Friday of each month from p.m. to 9 p.m. and host just one $250 jackpot game. However, the club, which runs on donation, recently received $1,000 from Lynwood Councilwoman Maria Santillan-Beas, will be able to host more cash prizes for tonight’s event.

This evening’s game will have five $50 jackpot games, five $100 games and five $250 jackpot games.

In a city issued press release, Lorene Reed, the club’s president, called upon seniors to join the club, explaining that it was not only fun, but also good for mental health.

“Bingo helps with memory, doctors say that cognitive skills are enhanced when one plays bingo,” she said. “We want to make sure people stay active.”

The anniversary event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center, which is located 11330 Bullis Road. If you wish to have more information, feel free to call Rozie Carrillo at (310) 603-0220 Ext. 356.

One of the critics say the movie is set to modern music. I will not watch if this is true. TheRead More 1920's music is 1/2 of what made the Gatsby's memorable. Modern music will take away from the story of Scott Fitgerald's generation.
