If you're out for a walk Sunday evening or relaxing in the yard, take a look in the western sky just after sunset and you'll see a rare alignment of Jupiter, Venus and Mercury.All the action is taking place low in the west-northwest sky about 45 minutes to an hour after sunset.
All three planets will be readily visible to the naked eye.It will be particularly easy to spot the "Sunset Triangle" because these planets are the brightest in the sky, according to NASA. The triangle will be visible even in places with heavy urban light pollution, the agency said. The best time to look is about 30 to 60 minutes after sunset.
The three planets will be hugging the horizon, so a clear view of the western sky is essential, according to NASA.Such a tight grouping of the three planets in the night sky won't come again until 2026, according to Space.com.If you want to catch a glimpse of the planet, let Venus be your guide. Venus will pop out of the fading twilight long before the other two planets, NASA says.
Once Venus is located, you can use binoculars to find the other two palents, but as the twilight continues to fade, the triangle soon will become visible to the naked eye, according to NASA.
