Lynwood Shooting in Long Beach Was Gang Related

By Patch Staff

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) has told Patch that Sunday’s, May 12, shooting in 10300 block of Long Beach Boulevard was gang related and is currently under investigation.

“Some individuals pulled up in a vehicle and started shouting things [at the victim], and fired some gunshots at him,” said Lieutenant Ernie Chavez of the LASD Century Sheriff’s Station. “No one was struck and the vehicle sped away.”

The shooting took place at approximately 6:40 p.m.  near the El Paisa Mariscos Restaurant.

“They sped towards South Gate,” said Lt. Chavez. “We are investigating what happened.”

The name of the involved gangs was not provided.
