South Gate Classic Car Show Returns

By Patch Staff

The 2013 Tweedy Mile Classic Car Show by Greenspan's is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 23, 2013. The family friendly event, which usually takes place during South Gate’s Azalea Festival, was delayed because the traditional organizer, the South Gate Chamber of Commerce, was unable to do so this year.

Forcing the Tweedy Mile Association (TMA), a local merchants organization,  and the city’s park and recreation department to step in and carry out the project at a later date.

“There was hiccup this year,” said Paul Adams, South Gate’s Director of Parks and Recreation. “So we are holding it now.”

The show’s main sponsor, Greenspan’s, a popular men’s clothing store located at 3405 Tweedy Boulevard, is also very involved with the organizing of the event, and has been for several years, said Adams.
