By Patch Staff

On Tuesday, June 18, 2013, South Gate Swim Stadium will play host to the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL). The latter is a Guiness World Record attempt that is taking place at waterparks and pools across the world to champion swimming classes.

“Tragically, drowning is the second leading cause of unintended, injury related death of children ages 1-14,” said a statement from the WLSL organization. “Unfortunately, research shows that if a child doesn’t learn to swim before the third grade, they likely never will.”
