An alleged kidnapper, who escaped arrest in Malibu and has been on the run since early Monday, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after barricading himself inside a Maywood home.

The escape occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Monday as a deputy went to investigate a Nissan Sentra parked on the side of the road. The deputy handcuffed one hand and as he was trying to restrain the other, Barragon was able to break away, injuring the deputy and prompting a massive manhunt.
