According to a city issued press release, Danilo LandaVerde, the father of Emily, stated that his daughter could not get enough of the new K-9 unit.

“Every year, we look forward to National Night Out, we enjoy the helicopter landing,” said Danilo. “But this year, the dog had her attention the entire time.”

As a prize for winning the contest, Emily, was also given a 26-inch flat screen television. This was an award that she was surprised with during the October 16th, City Council meeting.

“She was so excited when we got the call that her entry had been selected,” said Danilo. “She spent all night trying to figure out what she was going to wear to the City Council meeting, and she couldn’t wait to see the dog again.”
