A man in his late 40s was rushed to Lynwood hospital after suffering a gunshot in South Los Angeles, a police officer said Sunday.

He did not survive, officers said. Police were dispatched at 5:55 p.m Saturday to 92nd Street and Central Avenue, and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound, said Los Angeles police officer Cleon Joseph of the Media Relations Section.

Paramedics rushed him to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, where he was pronounced dead, Joseph said.
