UPDATE: Man Shot and Killed in Lynwood Robbery

The man was pronounced dead at around 7:00 p.m.

UPDATE 5:00 p.m.: The victim has been identified as Luis Valadez, 67, of Bell Gardens, according to authorities. 

LYNWOOD (CNS) - A man in his 60s was shot and killed during a robbery in Lynwood, authorities said on Tuesday evening.

The victim was found around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 12000 block of Long Beach Boulevard and was pronounced dead at a hospital about 30 minutes later, said Los Angeles County coroner's Lt. Joe Bale.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were sent to investigate the slaying, said Lt. John Hocking of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

The victim's name was being withheld pending family notification, Bale said.
