A fire in South Gate Sunday ripped through one unit of a single-story duplex but no injuries were reported.
The fire in the 8100 block of Commercial Place was reported about 9 a.m., a Los Angeles County fire dispatch supervisor said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, the dispatcher told Patch.
It took firefighters about 14 minutes to knock down the flames, which had engulfed one until by the time crews arrived, the dispatcher said.
Firefighters were still on scene -- performing overhaul and elimination of hotspots -- at 10:30 a.m.
