Suspects in Lynwood Shooting Fired At Deputies With AK-47

Deputies responded to a call about two people shot at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Pine Street in Lynwood.

Two suspects in a shooting in Lynwood were in custody Tuesday and others were being sought by sheriff's deputies as the result of a chase that ended with a crash in Compton, according to the sheriff's department and broadcast reports.

The suspects fired at deputies who were pursuing them, Sgt. Paul Shigo of the sheriff's Century Station said.

The shooting occurred at Long Beach Boulevard and Pine Street in Lynwood at 5:45 p.m.

The shooting victim was gone when deputies arrived, Shigo said.

The pursuit ended at El Segundo Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue when the suspect car crashed into another car and the suspects ran, according to KCAL9.

KCAL9 reported that deputies recovered two AK-47s that had been used to shoot at them.
