Three-Vehicle Crash in South Gate Injures Two

All northbound lanes of the Long Beach Freeway at Imperial Highway were shut down for 24 minutes after the crash.

A three-vehicle crash sent two people to trauma centers Sunday following a wreck on the Long Beach (710) Freeway in South Gate, a Los Angeles County Fire Department official said.

The incident was reported at 2:45 a.m. on the northbound Long Beach Freeway north of Imperial Highway, the California Highway Patrol said.

Two people were taken to trauma centers for treatment of injuries, said Los Angeles County Fire Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman.

All northbound lanes of the Long Beach Freeway at Imperial Highway were shut down for 24 minutes, and the two right lanes remained shut down seven more minutes during the cleanup and investigation.
