Car Used in Lynwood Robbery Located; Driver and Passenger Possessed Guns and Drugs

The car was stopped by Huntington Park police.

Huntington Park police stopped a Chevrolet Suburban and arrested its two occupants one week after the vehicle was identified as one used in the robbery of a money courier in Lynwood, the sheriff's department reported Tuesday.

The initial robbery took place on Sept. 14, according to Huntington Park police Sgt. Lew Gosnell.

Two suspects used their vehicles to box in the courier who was transporting a large amount of money, according to the sheriff's department.

The thieves robbed the courier at gunpoint and then fled the scene.

The license plate of the Chevy SUV was obtained during the robbery and entered into a criminal database, according to the sheriff's department.

The license plate was then picked up by one of two automatic license plate readers used by the Huntington Park police, according to Gosnell.

The two unnamed suspects were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies from the Century Station also found two loaded handguns and narcotics inside the car.

Both the sheriff's department and the Huntington Park police unlawfully refused to release the names of the suspects who were arrested.
