Burbank City Manager Announces Move to South Gate

A local Burbank newspaper has announced that Mike Flad will become the new South Gate city manager.

Mike Flad, Burbank city manager, announced in an email to staff and city council members of Burbank that he would be leaving and taking over the same position in South Gate, according to the Burbank Leader. 

“After 22 years of service to the city of Burbank, I have accepted an offer from the city of South Gate to serve as their next city manager,” said Flad reportedly in the aforementioned email.

The Burbank Leader also reports that Flad's employment contract was not “completely final.” However, Flad is very optimistic about it going through.

“I am extremely confident that in just over [one] month I will be making a difference in South Gate and you will have a new boss,” said Flad in the email.

Flad’s last day in Burbank is expected to be October 25.

The employment contract could be finalized and voted on by the South Gate City Council meeting of September 25, according to the Burbank Leader.
