Council To Consider Reimbursements Associated with Redevelopment Agency

The City Council will consider approving a agreement that would reimburse South Gate with part of the costs associated with the widening down of the redevelopment agency.

 

Today’s  meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. and will take up several topics of interest to South Gate. Here arethree  of the most important happenings on the agenda:

1. The City Council will consider approving a $150,000 agreement with David Volz Design for the development of designs and docuemnts related to the construction of the State Street Park project.

2. The City Council will consider approving a reimbursement agreement between city of South Gate and itself as the successor to the redevelopment agency. The reimbursement will cover $125,000 that have been assumed by South Gate in  administrative and labor costs as result of the widening down of redevelopment agency.The money woud be reimbursed to the city of South Gate from funds garnered from the property taxes that funded the now defunct redevelopment agency. 

3. The City Council will consider adopting the ordinance that would in turn make the United States Post Office located in on 3270 Firestone Boulevard to the South Gate Register of Culturally Significant Landmarks.
