South Gate Council Moves Forward with Tweedy Mile Renovations

The South Gate City Council unanimously voted in favor of approving an agreement with South Coast Lighting & Design for the purpose of refurbishing street sign panels in Tweedy Boulevard.

This will allow for all 124 signs between Hunt Avenue and Virginia Avenue within Tweedy Boulevard to be either replaced or revamped.

“This is just the first phase,” said Mohammad Moskhatami , Director of Public Work’s for the city of South Gate. “The whole thing is going to cost approximately $1 million.”

This first stage is expected to cost just under $160,000.

The South Gate Public Works Department plans on beginning the renovations within three weeks, and anticipates to complete this phase within four months.
