On Monday, Ricardo “Rick” Reyes, a marine veteran and longtime resident of South Gate, announced his intentions to run for one of the two South Gate City Council seats that will be up for grabs in the election of March 5, 2013.

“I am running for South Gate City Council because it is time this great city leads in industry and innovation once again,” said Reyes in a press release. “Over the coming months, I look forward to meeting my neighbors on their front porches and in their living rooms to discuss the challenges we face, and the solutions our community needs to overcome them.”
