Watch Out for Street Closures in Lynwood on the Fourth of July

The city council approved street closures for the July Fourth holiday last night.

The Fourth of July is fast approaching and that means street closures.

If you’re going to be traveling through Lynwood that day, be aware that the city council recently approved the closure of several streets to accommodate Independence Day celebrations.

The closures are:

  • Sampson Street will be closed noon to 10 p.m. from Shirley Avenue and La Sage Street.
  • Cortland Street will be closed 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Ernestine Avenue to Muriel Drive.
  • Platt Avenue will be closed noon to 10 p.m. from Ernestine Avenue to Gertrude Drive.

The council approved the requests Tuesday, June 18 during their regularly scheduled meeting.
