Lynwood School District Welcomes Members, Honors Those Leaving

The Lynwood Unified School District will host its annual reorganization meeting tonight.

The Lynwood Unified School District will host its annual reorganization meeting at 6 tonight.

The event will feature the swearing in of the newly elected board member Alma-Delia Renteria and board member Alfonso Morales, Esq. who was re-elected to the Board of Education in November.

“The District will also recognize the dedication and efforts of retiring board member Rachel Chavez and outgoing board member José Luis Solache, who was recently elected to the Lynwood City Council,” city officials wrote in their event announcement.

Renteria replaces Chavez who has served 24-years on the Board of Education. The board will determine a process for selecting a candidate to replace the seat vacated by Solache, officials wrote.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the Board of Education will take part in the Board reorganization, in which they nominate and vote to appoint a president, vice president and clerk of the board, officials said.

The board meets in the Lynwood Unified School District Board Room, 11321 Bullis Road in Lynwood.
