Jorge Luis Macias is a native of Guanajuato, Mexico, and has been a journalist for over 25 years. Between 1993 and 2007 he worked for the leading Spanish newspaper La Opinion in Los Angeles as a sports writer, metropolitan news reporter and local news assignment editor.<br> <br> He was also sports editor of the bilingual newspaper Miniondas in Santa Ana, CA, and served as Special Aide to Los Angeles Councilmember, Jose Huizar (District 14).
